Polarity/1 – Senhor Softee

The Battery Dance Company performs “I’ll Take You There” at the 26th Annual Downtown Dance Festival to the mesmerizing electronica of Polarity/1. “Senhor Softee” contributes magnetic pulses and playful xylophone to the soundtrack; however, this song is rather tame in comparison to Polarity/1’s usual chaotic melodies and unconventional sounds. This is not a bad thing, as even a simple beat from Polarity/1’s unique musical approach proves to be exciting and powerful.

Polarity/1 - The Marvin Stomp

Polarity/1s use of broken record sound at the start of The Marvin Stomp makes his song anything but broken. In fact, the introductory sounds are so upbeat that the repetition is quite satisfying. The jazzy twists and swingin beat sure give the performers in the Battery Dance Company something to dance about. Just try listening to these melodies without moving along Polarity/1s eclectic compilation of bouncy, enthusiastic noises will have his listeners dancing inside and out.

"Duo of musicians who have never met in person. In fact they have only worked via the internet. Somebody may think it would be impossible to create a feeling that way. But this is not the case of The Lyre Effect. She, the poet, writes and speaks verses. He, drummer and producer, creates music and beats. The result is an original intense sound, made of noises, music, and poetry."
