MusicDishTV Presents "The Controversial/Purple Thang" By Cocky Da Homo MC

"The Controversial/Purple Thang", from artist Cocky da Homo MC, is actually one of several of his videos that are available on YouTube. He does not appear on this video at all, but the listener is treated to the tracks from his recordings. In one video, he states, "Black people tell me stop comparing us to them". That does not take into account gay Black people, but hey you want your 15 minutes of fame, show us your artistic skills. The music emulates what's hot today, the synthesizer and bass parts are proper, and the drums are mixed and produced for a big sound. Music video is vital to present and represent one's message and music. If this artist is indeed serious about issues for gay hip hop artists, then I hope the next video will be "broadcast ready" because "the world" wants you to bring it for real!

MusicDishTV Presents "Winner" By Devotion

Christian reggae/hip hop artist Devotion's music video "Winner" is a visually engaging, inspirational, and encouraging video about being a "Winner" because of a relationship with God. Set to a hip hop/reggae grove with a nice hook, that's very nice. with a very inspirational message and a very nice hook. Devotion spits her rhymes with Christian lyrics done in a really cool and hip way. With a strong voice and presentation, she exudes positivity, presenting the image of a strong young woman whose life is in control because of The One who is in control. It's a refreshing look at the other side of hip hop, and Devotion is a natural at both the rhymes and video performance. The video unfolds to tell of a "courtship" where the guy is coming with game, and she is not the least bit fooled or conned into going for it because she has a self-confidence that comes from an inner strength that doesn't let you down. She is a smooth rapper and the reggae beat is very danceable. The groove is so strong that this could easily cross over to other musical genres. The video is professionally shot and very well produced.

MusicDishTV Presents "Top 5" By MC Kublakai

Northwest born MC Kublakai's video and track, "Top 5," is a semi-chronicle of the young rapper's journey into the world of hip hop. It's a really cool, honest, and refreshing look into Kublakai's life and his discovery of the big names in the game of rap. "Top 5" is a tribute to hip hop and the artists who helped shape the genre and change the industry and culture that, like Rock and Roll, is now a huge part of the American way of life. Big props for this history lesson set to a deep beat. Kublakai flows effortlessly as he weaves a story of his own life and how it was impacted by hip hop, leading to much respect for it. He mentions and shows a lot of the greats from back in the day who made all of us wake up to rap and hip hop. The video is smooth and entertaining, and though it is most the young talent as he spits, there are other well placed visuals. Kublakai has a great sound, and one that is actually distinctive, which is both a rarity and a treat. And there's just something about him that makes you want to like him, which is probably the fact that he comes off as being very genuine. The video, which is professionally shot and produced, is very strong and accomplishes its goal of showing the great love that exists for the music and the connection hip hop music has to the past. This is an excellent video, and a very good performance from an artist that this reviewer would like to see and hear a lot more from.

MusicDishTV Presents "Trim Pounds" By Mr. Garth-culti-Vader

West coast rapper Mr. Garth-culti-Vader's video "Trim Pounds" starts off with Kanye West's song Gold Digger being played, and a young white man smoking while he cleans what looks like a club. He goes over to the turntable, then starts the music over, and while it is still Kanye's music, Mr. Garth-culti-Vader has put his own rhymes to it, telling about the marijuana lifestyle in California. The video alternates from that point between showing him rapping on stage and in the bathroom cleaning. A second janitor appears and immediately begins dancing. Overall, the spits are pretty good and of course, you can't go wrong with the music. The video ends with the owner walking in on Mr. Garth-culti-Vader standing there holding his mop, and admonishing him for doing so, stating "What are you doing? We've got a club to open." Oh well, guess it was all just a daydream, but at least it was a nice one.

The video "Gimme Dat" takes a very interesting approach as the plot is laid out in a story form and the talented young rapper enters telling a deep, sobering, but very real story and asking the question that separates humans from the apes from which we supposedly evolved - Why? Why must things be the way they are? He then gives some very hard core answers that slice straight through to the truth like a knife cutting through butter. It's not Robin Hood, it's "robbing in the hood."

A serious mix of interesting piano, drums, synth, and percussion make this a message that is easy to listen to. The video director was very talented in aggressive in his (or her) approach. The music is one of a kind with lyrics that will captivate you, delivering the sad details about what's going on in the hood and describing the mentality of young brothers who do the terrible things with which our television screens and newspapers are bombarded. "Gimme Dat" is real talk set to music, and at the end, you will find yourself wanting to hear and see more, and you might just find yourself wanting the "bad guys" to get away. Nicely done.

MusicDishTV Presents "Roach Clips" By Hip Hop Artist Dolo The Bandit

Hip hop artist Dolo The Bandit brings the party to you in the video "Roach Clips" with strong rapping and good music. The artist steps up to the home plate and hits a home run with this track. It's notorious and has a strong sound done in a way that only east coast rappers can do it that should be a big winner with viewers and anyone who likes to get their groove on.

"Roach Clips" is a well-spoken story that grips you with a mix that will make the whole club swoon together in party harmony. The breaks are right on time and the talent is more than obvious. The video shows every day people relaxing in their own particular ways (roach clips) and the story centers on the struggles of the artist as he strives to live his dream and have his desires, while he finds a way to relax and escape from the pressures of life and the pain of living in the cold hard city trying to make things happen when the odds are against you. Dolo The Bandit is a class act who gives a high dollar performance, and none who see this video or hear the track will be disappointed.

MusicDishTV Presents "U & I" By Static

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Hip hop artist Static has released his latest track, "U & I," which is an emotionally touching video and song that may just become the theme for every man who has messed things up with a really good woman and wants another chance to make her understand that he loves and needs her. The lyrically powerful anthem and emotional and passionate scenes of the video help to convey the emptiness that goes with the territory of having loved and lost. With a grooving track that flows nicely with breaks and a great hook, "U & I" shows that even a warrior can be hurt by certain things, with his woman leaving him being at the top of the list. If you've ever had a beautiful flower by your side, only to be plucked away, you'll feel the punch that this video packs. In fact, the video is so well crafted that, by the time it's over, you feel like you've been to the movie to see a dramatic love story. "U & I" will be available on the Global Voice Syndicate label at iTunes and Amazon on February 14th.

MusicDishTV Presents "Give It To Me Now" by NazB

Pleasure and lots of it is the driving force behind NazB's video "Give It To Me Now." The video, directed by Shamsheed Sobha (Studio-S) is a very high quality professional one, and is so full of heat that you just might need a cold shower after watching it. With a strong, thumping beat, the base, keyboards, pipes, and drums provide the perfect backdrop for NazB's colorful and creative lyrics about having his desires fulfilled without delay, declaring - "Shorty, give it to me raw/Give it to me now".

Beautiful seductive women, fine cars, dancers, and a hot club scene work well together to convey the message that life is all about living it at the top and having what you want when you want it. No waiting allowed - if, of course, you can kick it like NazB. Visually stimulating, "Give It To Me Now" is racy, powerful and captivating. Though the message is simple, it is one that is delivered powerfully as NazB sets it off in both English and French, which has a reputation for being the language of love. His accent and tone combine perfectly with the pulse of the music to provide a video experience extraordinaire.

MusicDishTV Presents "Showroom Ready" By Millenium

You should dress for the job you want, not for the job you already have: If there's one outfit living this old business maxim to the max, it's Millenium. The Los Angeles-based group are making a big stride into the big time with the video for their first single, 'Showroom Ready'.

"Showroom Ready is about the immaculate lifestyle. It's how you choose to roll," says Millenium rapper Young Fit. True to his word, the band have produced a promo clip which bathes you in the dream-like sheen of silk, marble and crystal chandeliers - in short, the good life. Forget excess - forget face tattoos, gaudy grills, celebrity meltdowns and rehab. Millennium's vision is something more refined, purer - how to enjoy life. They say living well is the best revenge, and yet Millenium are nobody's foe. And in spite of the philandering, jet-setting and easy living celebrated by their promo video, they still end up, in its final minute, on stage as a band, performing to a flock of fans who are just waving their hands in the air and having fun. As vocalist K-King says, "Showroom Ready is one of those songs that just reaches out and slaps you in the face. It's entertaining, it's fun, it's pure Millennium."

Musically speaking, Millenium are also more down-to-earth than the competition. Rapper Young Fit, singer K-King and singer/composer Stryker are backed up by a live band: Monte McConnell (drums), Jiro Tanaka (bass) and Jasun Edelman (guitar/keys). Not for them the vacuum-packed sound of commercial R&B. The broad range of the individual band members' musical interests come into play in their collective songwriting; Jiro's skillful funk bassline is only the highlight of a fresh and tight musical package. And, bear in mind, 'Showroom Ready', is just the tip of a musical iceberg. Milennium's debut album, Game Changer, is set for release on May 1.

Mase "We Miss You" (Official Video)

The video "We Miss You" by hip hop/R&B artist Mase is a well-produced, sophisticated and savvy video that is a beautiful tribute to his father who passed away. It depicts a son who has obvious material successes, and suggests that the influence of his father helped him to make the choices that allow him to live that way. In the video and track, Mase brings you into his world as he shows and tells how his father's demise all went down, and it's an emotional and touching experience. He's singing a song of remembrance and honor for the fatherly support and love that he knew and lost, asking the question "What am I supposed to do in this crazy world without you?" and issuing affirmative and heartfelt statements like "I am never gonna forget all the time you spent with me". The song should serve as an inspiration to all fathers to do what a loving one like his did – to shape the future that one has created. The music is a good accompaniment to lyrics that are gripping and never let go.

The track has a nice beat with a somewhat mysterious sound of electronic water, a nice guitar with background, and accompanying female vocals that are fantastic. "We Miss You" is a must see, must hear video and track.
